Obviously the original boiler on the VC a A's #4 (Locobase 11838) satisfactory for long. By the time it appeared in the 1926 roster book, it had acquired a new vessel that had fewer, larger-diameter tubes and a bigger firebox.
Data from NdeM 1926ca Locomotive Diagrams supplied in December 2010 by Allen Stanley. Allen also supplied Copeland's FC Nacionales de Mexico roster that answered the question described below. Works number was 30512 in January 1905.
Locobase couldn't determne the origins of this skinny-gauge Consolidation for years; the 1926 diagram drew blanks. Consulting Copeland's roster answered the questions.
Although the diagram book dated from 1926, Locobase found a note on the diagram dated 16 March 1935 that described a change in the boiler's tube layout. At the time, the locomotive had 144 2" tubes each measuring 9 ft 10 3/4" (3.32 m) long.
The NdeM retired the 152 in October 1947 and "condemned" it on 16 October 1949.
