Class Rio Frio (Locobase 12287)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 21, p. 226. Works numbers 16105-16106 in August 1898, 16391 in December, and 27507-27508 in February 1906.

The original charter of this railway ran east from Chalco in the Mexico City area to Rio Frio. and Puebla. In 1899, the total route distance amounted to 51 km (31 miles). By 1903, the X & SF was part of the San Rafael y Atlixco. The SR & A bought two more identical Mikados in 1906.

All 4 were both rebuilt as 2-8-0s. Later in their careers, the 3 and 8 went to the Anahuac Railway.
