Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class A (Locobase 5162)

Data from John Garner and his website [link] (October 2002).

Garner notes that this little engine was variously described as "a most absurd-looking dwarf", "a mere mite", "a veritable toy locomotive". Supplied from Dubs & Co (12) and Yorkshire (2), they served light branch lines out of Canterbury. After they were retired by the NZR, they went into industrial and logging service.
