Class Class 44 (Locobase 6183)

Data from:

Svein Sando's Railway Site [link] (9 June 2004)--(Later link: The Semaphore, accessed for link update 10 July 2022.)--and the Jernbane (Iron Road) site [link] (June 2004).

Immediately following the Stephenson-built Moguls (Class 6), these Sharpies had a slightly bigger boiler and a much bigger grate. The boiler was also higher. Over time, the locomotives were fitted with 3-axle tenders with more water capacity. Taken into the NSB as Class 44 in 1926, the last was retired on 10 November 1954.
