Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 101 (Locobase 11942)

Data from image 54b of FEPASA website ([], last accessed 27 December 2010). Thanks to Ivo Rutishauser for his 27 February 2026 email supplying the correct works numbers and reporting the 101's loss before delivery.) Works numbers began with 19144-19147 in 1911 and 20082 in 1913

The class leading 101 was lost at sea; the 1913 engine took road #1 (second).

This quartet of freight Moguls were identical to the passenger engines shown in Locobase 11941; they also had Belpaire fireboxes. The only substantial difference was the use of smaller drivers (6 1/2" less diameter) to increase tractive effort.

Class 151 (Locobase 11943)

Data from image 151b of FEPASA website ([], last accessed 27 December 2010). Works numbers were 2513-2514.

One site says this pair came from YEC in 1953, 40 years after the other Moguls shown in Locobases 11941-11942. Other than a substantial increase in boiler pressure and greater weight on the drivers and truck, the two were essentially repeats. Like the earlier engines, these had Belpaire fireboxes.

Class 51 (Locobase 11941)

Data from image 54b of FEPASA website ([], last accessed 27 December 2010). See also "2-6-0 Locomotive, Paraguay Central Railway," The Locomotive (15 July 1910), p. 137. Works numbers began with 19134.

These Moguls had Belpaire fireboxes and relatively small dimensions and were part or a buying spree initiated by the FCCP after the railway's conversion to the Argentine broad gauge. Their service is described as for passengers.
