A letter from Beyer, Peacock supplied the data for the Sharp, Stewart tanks to support its contention that the Fairlies that arrived at nearly the same time (see Locobase 14821) simply weren't as good. They were hard on tires, no more powerful on the grades, and maintenance hogs.
