Class Px 48/Px49 (Locobase 5155)

[link] (August 2002). This design had been created during World War II, but series production only began in 1949. The two classes were distinguished by their tenders, the Px48 pulling one with two bogies, the Px49 using a 3-axle version. Other changes from the pre-war design included a more sheltered footplate and enlargement of the heating surfaces and the grate.

Although built to the 750 mm gauge, 17 were modified in 1969-1974 by ZNTK Nowy Its in Czechoslovakia to run on the metre gauge. And 10 went to Romania as CFR 764.050-059.
