These narrow-gauge tank engines served the Vale do Vouga area both before and after the formation of the CP in 1951. When the lines were closed in 1972, the engines were based at the Sernada depot, from which they were tranferred to Viseu. The last to retire was E 122 which left service on 24 April 1977. Only E 121 was scrapped; the others have all been preserved.
