Russian Iron & Coal Industry 0-8-0 Locomotives in Russia

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1 (Locobase 10321)

Data from "Eight-coupled Tank Locomotive for Russia," The Locomotive Magazine, Volume VIII [8] (16 May 1903), pp. 340. (Many thanks to Piotr Staszewski for his 16 June 2021 email correcting the wheel arrangement that Locobase had somehow entered as "4-4-2T".) Works numbers were 3150-3151 in 1903.

At this time, Berliner (BMAG) was the recently applied name to the Schwartzkopff works. LM noted that the venerable Joy valve gear layout was "in use on a great many Russian engines."
