South Eastern 2-8-0 Locomotives in Russia

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 803 (Locobase 12265)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 21, p. 159. Works numbers were 15836-15849 in April 1898.

These Vauclain compound Consolidations were identical to the large Vladicaucase order that shipped in 1896 (Locobase 12173) and the later Moscow-Vindbau deliveries (Locobase 3222) that had 14" (456 mm) HP cylinders.

This set soon operated on the Moscow-Kursk Railway.
