Class 021-2011 (Locobase 3329)

Data from [link], the web site of the Spanish National Railway. See also Pere Comas, Breve Historia de la Traccion Vapor en MZA, Trensim TS10H002, Julio de 2011, pp. 30-32. Sharp, Stewart works numbers were 2684-2691 in 1877 and 2863-2866 in 1880.

Procured by the TBF to haul local passenger trains, these engines had smaller drivers than the 2-4-0s delivered at the same time. So they hauled slower local passenger and goods trains.

The entire class went to the Madrid, Zaragoza & Alicante in 1898 as part of the merger between the two. Although the lead locomotive was converted to an 0-4-4T tank engine in 1915, the others remained unchanged until the Spanish Civil War. Few of this class survived that conflict to be taken into RENFE in 1941.
