Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Aliva (Locobase 20787)

Data from at [link], last accessed 8 August 2020. Works number was 11198.

Very similar to an O&K locomotive delivered to the RCAaM in 1924 and shown in Locobase 5740, the Aliva was relatively bigger and more powerful. It ran over the 9 km (5.6 miles) between the Lavador de Torres and the transhipment point at Hinojedo (near the coast southwest of Santander in Cantabria.

It was abandoned in a station at Torrelavega at the end of its first "working life" (as CIFVM has it), but was restored and reentered tourist service in 2017.

Class Florida (Locobase 5740)

Data from [link], first(visited 13 November 2003). Works numbers was 11695.

This little tankwas built for the Compagnia Real de Asturias, a Spanish mining company. After decades of service on that line, the locomotive eventually ended up owned by the Chemin de Fer de St-Eutrope near Paris. The rolling stock and other items of that railway were auctioned off in March 2001 and the engine wound up in the care of L'Association des Chemins de Fer des Cites-du-Nord. (This group commemorates the 20 narrow-gauge lines that served that part of France from the early years of the 20th century until the last line closed in 1956.)
