Sur de Espana 0-6-0 Locomotives in Spain

When they first entered service on the Sur, this six-coupled class received these names, according to []

1- Figuerola

2- Ivo Bosch

3- Almerfa

4- Linares

5- Guadix

6- Guadiana

7- Catalua

8- Iberia

9- Parfs

10- Madrid

The monikers adorned stubby little engines with impressive Belpaire fireboxes.

When the Andaluces took over the Sur, they renumbered the class 271-280. Finally, RENFE's founding in 1941 earned them the class identification shown above. The numbers ran from 2492-2501.


Class 36/030-0225 (Locobase 3405)

Then on to the Andaluces as 36-38 and into the RENFE (1941) as 0225-0227.
