Class 5 (Locobase 13461)

Associacio Reconstruccio Material Ferrviari website at [link] and the Locomotives of the SFG website at [link], last accessed 16 November 2011. Works numbers were 2343 and 2392 in 1890.

The SFG site says that these were very similar to a group of tanks bought for the Sant Feliu de Gufxols a Gerona in 1890-1893. But "La Panderola" only operated the pair in Feliu for about 3-4 months because the design was so unsatisfactory. They were viewed as difficult to operate because they were cross-compounds, and they rode roughly. So both were transferred to Gerona, where it served for the rest of its career. For a time it was used on a tramway.

The 7 was later cosmetically restored for display.

Both sources report that the firebox had a 0.9 sq m area. Locobase believes that it is an incredibly low number and has used the figure as a grate area, which is proportionately much more likely.
