CG de Asfaltos y Portland 0-8-0 Locomotives in Spain

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 901/040-0211 (Locobase 5520)

Data from [link] (21 April 2003). One additional locomotive was produced as an 0-8-2T radial tank; see Locobase 5521.

This relatively small design was originally delivered to a industrial customer that produced cement and asphalt at a plant near what would be the Oeste's main line when that railroad was formed out of several smaller ones in 1928.

The design apparently didn't suit RENFE. A mere 16 years after these were delivered, the new national railway only took two of the 10.
