], which notes that these engines started out with the Sur. They were absorbed by the Andaluces as 241-244, but just one 2286 was taken up by RENFE on its founding in 1941.

These locomotives were purchased directly by the Sur to complement the three they'd acquired when that railway took over the Torralba-Soria (Locobase 3463). Other than an increase in cylinder diameter, they were essentially identical to the earlier engines. Like those engines they too had Belpaire fireboxes and Walschaerts valve gear.
On the Sur, their names were:
104- Sierra de G+dor
105- Sierra Alhamilla
106- Sierra de Baza
107- Sierra de los Filabres
This quartet eventually belonged to the Andaluces (234-237) when that railway was formed and were handed over to the RENFE when the national system formed in 1941.
Data from [] . Works numbers were 5055-5056 in 1904 and 5782-5783 in 1907.
The photograph shows a very high-pitched boiler. The dimensions suggest a powerful drag freight locomotive. When the Andaluces took over the Sur, this class was renumbered 245-248 -- RENFE apparently only took up one of the 4, numbering 040-2551.
