Data from [] (21 April 2003). Works numbers were 6385-6386 in 1910. See also [], which hosts a history of this line.
The FC de Triano measured only 15 km (8 miles). It was formed to counter the extension of mineral railroads into Vizcaya in northwestern Spain and was authorized in 1859 as the FC Nicolas Urcullu Smith. Construction of the line proceeded very slowly and the first train only ran the full distance in 1865. Once completed, however, it was quite successful and conveyed a million tons of iron ore between 1865 and 1872, 60% of the total tonnage in Vizcaya. Losses after World War I ultimately led to its absorption by the Bilbao & Portugalete in 1929. The lines were nationalized in RENFE in 1941.
The pair of eight-coupleds shown in this entry were the last to be purchased by the FC de Triano and also weighed the most by far. When they arrived on the Triano, they bore the names Gallarta and Ciervana.
