Medina del Campo a Salamanca / Oeste 2-6-0 Locomotives in Spain

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 130-2081 (Locobase 5522)

Data from [link], the web site of the Spanish National Railway.(21 April 2003). Works numbers were 9837-9840 in 1910, 18629 in 1921, and 19513 in 1922.

Smallish, saturated-steam Mogul of relatively light axle loading, the first four came from Henschel a year after the Hartmann superheated Moguls (Locobase 3351) were procured. They had a sturdy, upright look with Belpaire fireboxes, small dome over the second course, and a capped stack.

All six were still extant when RENFE was formed in 1941.

Class 130-2111 (Locobase 3351)

Data from [link], the web site of the Spanish National Railway.

This decade of Moguls represented the largest of the type to run in Spain, but only by a little bit. Equipped with the biggest cylinders, they were also the only Oeste 2-6-0s with superheat to be taken into RENFE in 1941.
