Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 10474)

Data from "Double-Ender Tank Locomotive for Spain," The Locomotive Magazine, Vol X (15 November 1904)., p.193.

According to the LM report, "...for such a narrow gauge this is a powerful type, which not only possesses good hauling power, but can also run at fairly high speeds, and at the same time take the numerous and sharp curve with ease." The writer also noted that placing the boiler and grate above the rear coupled wheels allowed Borsig to reduce the wheelbase "...without cramping the dimensions of the boiler." Both carrying axles rode on radial arms and were centered by swing links.

An interesting further detail was the discussion of the uncluttered boiler, which noted that suppressing the number of pipes and rods reduced maintenance requirements "as the [pipes and rods] not only become dented and bent in the course of time, but also render it impossible to keep the engine neat and clean."
