CEMR 4-8-4 Locomotives in Spain

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 203 (Locobase 4848)

Data from [link] . Works numbers were 20053 in 1929, 22474 in 1934, and 23278 in 1936.

This Northern tank is probably the tank engine confrere of the Mikado tender engines delivered several years earlier. Like the Mikes, these Belpaire-boiler locomotives had a minimum curve radius was 90 metres, probably because the first and last driving axles were allowed considerable lateral movement.

They probably used the same boiler, although Locobase can't confirm that. All had a maximum speed of 40 kmh (25 mph).
