These mixed-traffic locomotives were the first Swedish eight-coupleds to lead with a bogie. The 1936 trio trailed tenders carrying 6 tonnes (6.6 short tons) of coal and 17.5 cu m (4,308 US gallons) of water; they weighed 41,800 kg loaded. Taken onto the Statens Jarnvagar (SJ) roster in 1945, they continued operating on the HNJ until retired in 1957.
