Data from Albert H Bone, "Some Recent Designs of Locomotives for Service on Continental Railways", Cassier's Magazine, 1910, pp. 561-609.
This modestly scaled four-cylinder compound design had piston valves on the HP cylinders and Trick or Allen-type slide valves on the LP. The inside, HP cylinders drove on the second axle while the LP cylinders outside drove on the third coupled axle. The valves were all driven from the return crank on the third axle. As the leading truck was radial and the 4th coupled axle had side play, the actual fixed wheelbase was 10 ft 7 15/16" (3.25 m).
The class was rated at 200 tons up 2.6% at 25 km/h (15 mph); their maximum service speed was approximately 40 mph. They worked the Basle-Olten (Hannstein), Domodossola-Iselbe, Lausanne-Vallorbe, and the then-new Simplon routes.
For comparison, see Locobase 2529, which documents the signficantly larger 2-8-0 of the Gotthardbahn.
