Swiss Federal 4-4-0 Locomotives in Switzerland

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class A 2/4 (Locobase 2782)

Maurice Demoulin, Locomotive Actuelle ... (Paris: Librairie Polytechnique Ch.Beranger, 1906), p 276.

Both pistons and valves were inside on this 2-cylinder compound eight-wheeler, which left only the eccentric crank and rod outside. In appearance, these locomotives offered a straight boiler topped by ever-diminishing components from the straight stack with flared bell, cylindrical steam dome ahead of the first driving axle, and steam dome over the first driver.
