Tunisian State 4-6-2 Locomotives in Tunisia

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 806 - 1928 (Locobase 15152)

Data from SACM diagram Elsassische Maschinenbau AG from locomotive book supplied by Dany Machi up at [link] as

Diagrammes des machines SACM construites a GRAFENSTADEN (October 2007). Works numbers were 6584-6588.

Water-side diameters were 50 mm for the tubes, 133 mm for the flues, which yielded an evaporative heating surface area of 1,583 sq ft (147.05 sq m).

See Locobase 15152 for the first five locomotives of this class. Although they were built fourteen years apart, the one big difference bewteen the two batches was the exchange of 12 small tubes for three more flues with superheater elements in them. This raised the superheater ratio at the expense of combined heating surface area.
