Data from Gavin Hamilton's []
(6 September 2005); and "Ottomanl Railway-Design 1113", Beyer-Garrrat Patent Articulated Locomotives (Manchester, England: Beyer-Peacock & Company Limited, 1931), archived on flickr's Historical Railway Images at [], et seq, p. 61
Works number was 6324 in 1927
Riding on 60-lb/yard (30-kg/metre) rail, this Garratts worked the Azazieh Pass, which had 818-ft radius curves and 2.8% ruling grade. some info from [], a Turkish website (accessed 17 June 2003), which quotes from The Beyer-Peacock Quarterly Reviewÿ, January 1931, p. 38. BP's Garratt pub reported that the "extremely satisfactory" 225 could haul 350 tons "up the difficult section while it is stated that a further 50 tons can be taken up with ease should traffic requirements render this desirable.
