Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 27, p. 206. See also Fowler (Ed.), 1912 Locomotive Cyclopedia (New York: Simmons-Boardman Co, 1912), pp. 156. (Thanks to Chris Hohl for his 8 February 2015 email informing Locobase of the coal capacity and a corrected engine weight, citing []). Baldwin works numbers were 25242 in March 1905 and 37913 in June 1912.
Fully enclosed as were most steam dummies, this packed a heftier power package than most such motive power units. Its tramcar-like body had six windows on each side, a short wheelbase and cylinder tucked under the floor, and the smokebox poking out through the front door and the stack sticking up through the roof.
According to Gene Connelly's Baldwin production file, both locomotives remained in service for decades. 1434 was scrapped in June 1950 and 1435 in July 1951.
