Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 15, p. 76. See Locobase 16366 for a skeptical 1877 view of steam dummies and Locobase 11577 for a supporting 1889 discussion of the problems associated with running steam dummies on urban street railways.Works number was 9950 in April 1889. See wikipedia ([], last accessed 15 August 2010)
Although briefly in the employ of this Norfolk to Hampton Beach street railway, the 4 went to the Wilmington Sea Coast in North Carolina (see [] for a description of this railway), but the electrification of that railway led to its sale to Angola Lumber in 1893.
