Central Monserrate 0-4-4 "Forney" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Concepcion (Locobase 13316)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 31 p.200. See Locobase 13278 for a description of the Monserrate. Works number was 33097 in December 1908.

Although the Monserrate had bought a 2-4-0 for its metre-gauge operation, it apparently needed a smaller tank engine for its lighter-weight 60-cm line. This little backup tank did the job.
