Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines, 1888, as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 15, p. 56
Works numbers were 9938 in April 1889. Information about the V & T available in "CHAPTER XV: THE RAILROAD DREAM", Eugene L Menefree & Fred A Dodge, History of Tulare and Kings Counties, California - History (Los Angeles, Calfi: Historic Record Company, 1913) archived at [] . Menefree and Dodge reported that the V & T was built in 1888 with local capital, some of which went to buy the small tank locomotive in this entry. By 1897, the road's chronic unprofitablility and competition from the recently arrived Santa Fe led to its closing.
The #2 was sold off to the Tacoma Eastern Railroad in August 1900.
