Class D A Nease (Locobase 12942)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 28, p. 269. (Thanks to "Matt M" for his 21 April 2021 email reporting the #4's later owner.) Works number was 29615 in November 1906.

Locobase presents the specifications of this engine as delivered, but the D A Nease did not long remain a Mogul. In 1907, its owners -- Black Band Coal & Coke Company -- had locomotive rebuilder/reseller Hicks rebuild the engine as a 2-8-0 Consolidation with 18" cylinders. At the time, the K&CR operated 20 miles of track.
