Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 2638)

Data from Catalogue Descriptive of Simple and Compound Locomotives built by Brooks Locomotive Works, Dunkirk, NY (Buffalo, NY: Matthew-Northrup Company, 1899).

Builder info from B.Rumary, 25 Kingscombe, Gurney Slade, Radstock, BA3 4TH, ENGLAND and Jeremy Lambert as supplied by Allen Stanley in March 2004.

Works number 2475 was in October 1894.(Locobase thinks it's likely that works number 3639, delivered six years later in October 1900 as road #4, was a repeat of #3.)

Respectably endowed Mogul for a narrow-gauge line in Upper Michigan. According to Kevin Musser on his website [link]:

"The year 1892 also saw the increase of the Q&TL fleet. 20 additional rock cars were ordered from Wells-French, as well as a third locomotive. #3 was also a 2-6-0 Brooks although larger, having 44 inch drivers, 17"x 22" cylinders and weighting 45 tons. #1 and #2 were purchased for $7,800, #3 weighed in at just under $9,000 with its dandy snow plow."
