Data from DeGolyer Library, Volume 52, p. 320. Works numbers were 41294 in April 1914 and 53270 in May 1920.

J R Buckwalter was headquartered in Union, Miss in Newton County near Meridian. These logging Prairies were to be delivered to "extremely rough" track. Its firebox was able to burn either wood or coal.

By 1925, the logging roads had been closed and the 5 then operated in industrial service.
