Data from DeGolyer Library, Volume 52, p. 322. Works number was 41422 in May 1914.
Kneeland-West was based in Lugerville, Wisc, eleven miles northwest of Phillips and located on the banks of the Flambeau River. The 1 pulled not only logs out of the formerly virgin timberlands but also passengers on the days that the logging trains didn't run. The "rough, undulating track" weighed 60 lb/yard (30 kg/metre), scaled 6% grades, and bent around 35 degree curves (166 foot/50.6 metre radii).
The K-W was succeeded by West Lumber, which renumbered the 1 as 101.
The sawmills at Lugerville operated until 1933.
