Meridian Lumber Company 2-8-0 "Consolidation" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 206 (Locobase 15210)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 71, pp. 153+. Works number was 57537 in November 1923.

This oil-burning logging Consolidation constituted a step up in power for the Meridian Lumber Company. Although superheated (and therefore used 10" (254 mm) piston valves for steam admission), the engine was not heavily endowed with modern appurtenances. It was delivered to Meridian, Louisiana.
