Data from American Locomotive Company builder's card for Order No. B-1671, February 1925, supplied in June 2019 by Steve Low through an email. See also Doug Evans, "08 Blog Item Number 8 - Elsie", entered 10 July 2008 at [], last accessed 2 July 2019. (Many thanks to Steve Low for filling the hole.) Works number was 66167 in January 1925.
Locobase 14273 describes the basic design of this Alco logging Mikado. An identical sister to the four sold at the same time to Long Bell Lumber (Locobase 14274), this saddle-tank soon went to Winlock & Toledo Logging of Winlock, Wash (see the Lewis County website at Logging Industry in Lewis Co., Washington, at [], last accessed 2 July 2019).
The 4 later went to Dallas, Ore to run on the Willamette Valley Lumber rails.
