Isle Royale Copper Company 2-8-2 "Mikado" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 4 (Locobase 14131)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 47, p. 315. Works number was 40115 in July 1913.

This side-tank Mikado was very similar in size and power to the Mogul delivered to the IRCC in 1908 and described in Locobase 13259. Its slightly smaller cylinder dimensions and boiler pressure, combined with an increase in adhesion weight, increased the factor of adhesion.
