Zwolle & Eastern 2-8-2 "Mikado" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 107 (Locobase 13187)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 52, p. 363. See also Mississippi Rails entry at [link], last accessed 22 September 2011. Works number was 41516 in June 1914.

Very shortly after it ordered the 200 (Locobase 13185), Delta Land & Lumber ordered a bigger logging Mikado with the intention of numbering it 201. The order was diverted to the Z&E, another Louisiana logging road that was owned by Sabine Lumber Company. (Baldwin executed the owner change and other particulars under Extra Work Order 1331 of 23 February 1915).

The SLC closed in 1921 and sold the 107 to Temple Lumber Company as their #17 and could be seen as late as August 1954 at the enginehouse at Pineland. It was scrapped in 1957.
