Houston & Brazos Valley 4-6-0 "Ten-Wheeler" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class TN-60 - 27.8 (Locobase 7759)

Data from MP SUBS 7 - 1935 Locomotive Diagrams supplied in May 2005 by Allen Stanley from his extensive Rail Data Exchange.

The H&BV bought the rights to the Velasco, Brazos and Northern Railway, which then consisted of 20 miles between Anchor and Velasco. Its 1924 acquisition by the New Orleans, Texas & Mexico was followed a year later by the latter's purchase by the Missouri Pacific. But the H&BV operated as a separate company for several decades more.

This Ten-wheeler boasted a heating surface area that put it in the top quarter of 4-6-0s of the time.
