Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 30, p. 245. Works number was 30997 in June 1907.

When the Hines Brothers Lumber Company went for a larger Baldwin than the #2 it already owned (Locobase 12997) , it bought a design identical in every way to the 1899 Cape Fear & Northern locomotive shown in Locobase 12369.
