Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 30 (Locobase 13689)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 35, p. 321 and 41, p. 128. Works numbers were 34917 in July 1910 and 37994 in June 1912.

The specs called for this pair to handle maximum grades of 2.1% and relatively gentle 6-degree (627 ft/191 metre radius) curves on the main line and much tighter 24-degree curvs on sidings.

See Locobase 11756 for the story of the Springmaid Line. See also the Springmaid Line's website history at [link], last accessed 7 January 2012.
