Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 517 (Locobase 9501)

Data from "Richmond Ten Wheeler for the Plant System," Railway and Locomotive Engineering, March 1899, pp. 116, 123. Works numbers were 2766-2777. Rumary's list shows the railroad as the Georgia, Florida & Western, specifically, although the locomotives were labeled Plant System.

As with many such reports at the time, the R&LE article included a list of the component suppliers:

Westinghouse brakes and train signal.

Golmar bell ringers,

Janney couplers

Star headlights

Monitor injectors

Chapman jacks

Franklin asbestos lagging

Nathan lubricators
