Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 40 (Locobase 13152)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 34, p.180. Baldwin works numbers were 34527 in April 1910 and 36564 in May 1911.

Both locomotives were the last new engines to be bought by the W & T. 40 later operate on the Georgia Northern as their 101. 41 was sold to the Wadley Southern Railway, but retained its road number.

Class 51 (Locobase 11502)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 26, p. 242. Works numbers were 18692 in February 1901, 23771 in February 1904, and 31132 in June 1907.

After its service with the W & T, the 53 went to the Wadley Southern, another Georgia shortline. The 54 apparently remained on the W & T throughout its career.
