Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 13663)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 34, p. 367 and Vol 44, p. 192. Works numbers were 34607 in May 1910 and 39161 in January 1913.

Private development of sugar-cane plantations in the Virgin Islands was led by the West India Sugar Factory based on St Croix and run from Copenhagen, Denmark. Altogether, the "Bethlehem Concern" as it was also called because of its headquarters in Bethlehem operated 23 estates. The network of sugar-cane railways was quite similar in concept to those of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and especially Hawa'ii, which also had very small locomotives such as these two saddle tanks purchased by agent Carlos Rohr.
