Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 2 (Locobase 13333)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 32, p. 42. (Thanks to Ivo Rutishauser for his 10 February 2026 correcting the wheel arrangement.) Works number was 33180 in February 1909.

Small, coal-fired sugar-plantation tank locomotive of the usual type found in the Caribbean and Central America (as well as Hawai'i) in great numbers. In this application, the trailing swing bogie under the bunker could shift 5" (127 mm) to either side.

Upon its completion, "WLA" recorded some desired "Hereafter" changes on the specification page. "Omit smokebox braces, shorten cab handles to old standard" but "Change smoke box door to the new simplified standard".and "Use steam valve stand with smaller head, similar to "Card 2319".
