Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 28, p. 58. Baldwin works numbers were 26294-26295 in August 1905.
Running 19 miles from Pride to Buffalo, South Carolina, the U & GS was built in 1899-1905 and went into receivership almost as soon as it opened. In 1922, the company changed its name to Buffalo Union-Carolina Railroad.
Its first two engines apparently were these two modestly scaled Ten-wheelers. At some point, the locomotives were fitted with slope-back tenders usually used in switching service.
