This design was an exact duplicate of two Noroeste locomotives delivered in 1910 by Baldwin (Locobase 13293). The only difference in this wood-burning Ten-wheeler was a short ton more in adhesive weight.
The BB-RdP was part of the RVPSC (Rede de Viatpo Paraná - Santa Catarina), organized in the 1930s to merge serveral railways including the Estrada de Ferro Paraná, Estrada de Ferro Norte do Paraná, ItararT-Uruguai, Ramal de Spo Francisco, and Paranapanema. The Barra Bonita had three locomotives in 1936--this Baldwin and two similar Ten-wheelers from Hanomag (works numbers 6533 in 1921 and 6856 in 1922 and later renumbered 340-341).
