When Turkey's Chemins de fer Orientaux opened the 500 km (310 mile) Salonika-Constantinople main line, they ordered these eight passenger Ten-wheelers. Their profile suggests the 1888 American-type Eight-wheelers shown in Locobase 21200, but stretched to take the additional axle and a somewhat larger firebox.

That their driver diameters measured just 1,650 mm (65") on a design described as intended for schnellzugdienst (express passenger service) suggests a demanding series of grades and curves.
