Data from Charles Rous-Martens, "British Locomotives for Abroad", Page's Magazine, Volume III, No 1 (July 1903), p. 118. See also the MyMalaya page on the Federated Malayan States Railway and its predecessors at [], last accessed 26 December 2011. Works numbers were 4189-4190, 4238-4239 (1903) and 4279-4280, 4289-4290 in 1904. Hunslet added 5 more (works numbers 860-864) in 1905.
Selangor Government Railway merged in 1903 with Perak Government Railway to form the Federated Malay States Railway. At that time both railways had bought very similar Ten-wheelers from Kitson (Locobase 13585) and Neilson, Reid (Locobase 13591). Kitson delivered another sextet in 1903-1904.
