Locobase could find very little information for one of the few 0-4-4-0 Mallets delivered with a tender in North America. They originally served the Penoles mines in Coahuila State.
The front set of drivers, powered by the low pressure cylinders were mounted outside the frame. A wider section of frame placed the rear set's drivers inside to be turned through a crank by the HP cylinders mounted outside.
No 1 later came to Colorado to operate on the Cripple Creek & Victor tourist railroad. The No 2 remained in Mexico to be put on display on a plinth at the NdeM Depot in Saltillo.
