BMAG's 901 drove the outside cylinders with Walschaert gear and the Gresley/Holcroft link to drive the inside. Henschel''s 902 had three Walschaert constant-lead radial gear sets, the inside cylinder valve actuated through a rocker arm driven by the radius rod.
A 4-10-2 was identical except for the leading truck, but was built later.
